Gov. Strickland Endorses Stewart

Wed, Oct 22, 2008. 06:25 PM

Governor Ted Strickland was in Zanesville this afternoon endorsing Jennifer Stewart for State Representative of the 94th District.

Governor Strickland spoke about Stewart's experience with the local and state school boards. Making her someone who would have his ear in Columbus. "Well Jennifer Stewart has a background that I think really prepares her to serve as State Representative during this particular time because education is an issue confronting me as governor as well as the state and Jennifer has a background that is very unique and I think having served on the local school board and having served on the state school board. She understands these issues and she can be a big help to me next year."

Stewart recently picked up endorsements from former Senator John Glenn as well as Congressman Zack Space. She says getting support from the Governor is welcomed. "It means everything to have the governors endorsement, I really respect and value his leadership and I really commend him for coming to Ohio, for leaving the Congress and entering our situation at this point and time, his leadership is very needed. I am in agreement with his priorities and it would be such a great honor and a privileged to work with him."

You can see Stewart and her opponent Troy Balderson next Thursday night on the WHIZ candidates forum.
