Ready to represent the 94th

During the course of this campaign, I have met with hundreds of you at events, and on your front porches throughout Coshocton and Muskingum counties. My enthusiasm for this area is heightened when you have greeted me with the friendliness and interest that speaks well of our Midwestern upbringing. I have always felt welcomed as I traveled throughout the 94th District.

You have shared your concerns, your uncertainties, and your ideas for a more promising future. You want state government to finally tackle a more equitable method for funding public education, to pay attention to our infrastructure, and to make our region attractive to businesses that will come here, grow, and prosper. We have a clear vision for using our natural resources and agricultural base for alternative energy and for using our manufacturing base to build the machinery that will make our region a net exporter of energy for our nation.

You also have shared your fears: job loss, inadequate healthcare access, and the dwindling of your retirement savings. Many of your loved ones are serving our nation in harm's way, as our daughter, Amy, has done in the U.S. Army in both Korea and Afghanistan. I share your anxiety when reading about horrific events involving our troops, and wonder how our soldiers are coping. I have seen my family's manufacturing business face the challenge of foreign competition and fight for every customer that uses its product. These are difficult economic times.

I value your perspectives and will continue listening to your concerns when representing you in Columbus. I ask for your vote because I am prepared to make a difference. My roots are in this area; Bill and I raised our five children here. I have served as an elected public official for 15 years, and know what our future can be when we all work together for the common good.
